BIPOC-Affirming Therapy in Las Vegas and Nevada
Finding a therapist who truly gets it — the intersection of race, identity, family legacy, and mental health — can feel exhausting. At Soul Ties Therapy PLLC, Danielle Cathey, LMFT, offers culturally responsive, BIPOC-affirming therapy in Las Vegas and statewide Nevada via telehealth, creating a genuinely safe space for individuals and couples who are done settling for therapy that ignores who they are.
What Culturally Responsive Therapy Means Here
Culturally responsive therapy is not just a checkbox. It means your therapist actively understands how systemic racism, cultural expectations, intergenerational trauma, and community dynamics shape mental health. Danielle's sociology background gives her a macro lens — she does not separate your internal experience from the world you live in.
At Soul Ties Therapy, culturally responsive practice looks like:
Affirming your racial, cultural, and family identity rather than treating it as a variable to work around
Understanding how racism and systemic oppression create real psychological burdens
Holding space for the complexity of navigating multiple cultural identities
Avoiding assumptions and centering your lived experience
Using evidence-based modalities adapted to your cultural context
BIPOC-Affirming Therapy for Individuals
Individual therapy at Soul Ties Therapy supports Black, Indigenous, and People of Color navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, identity, and more. Danielle draws on EFT, CBT, ACT, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients not just manage symptoms but understand and heal the root causes.
Areas of focus include:
Racial stress and race-based trauma
Anxiety and depression rooted in identity and belonging
Attachment wounds and relationship patterns from family of origin
Women's health and postpartum depression
Life transitions — career, relocation, grief, major change
Insecure attachment styles and their effect on relationships
BIPOC-Affirming Couples Therapy
Danielle also works with BIPOC couples navigating the added complexity of cultural expectations, family pressure, and systemic stress within their relationship. Her EFT-informed approach helps couples reconnect at the level of attachment, understanding why certain moments feel so charged and how to move through conflict without losing each other.
